If you are desiring helpful advice to determine the best glasses for yourself, you should talk with Tina. She continues to stay abreast of the latest trends in eyewear to help you choose the most comfortable, sleekest look combined with the latest lens technology. When you talk with Tina, you get knowledge plus years of experience.
Since 1988, she’s worked in the optical field and has worked with various optometrists as well as an ophthalmologist. Tina is an ABO (America Board of Opticianry) certified optician. Her expertise as an optician helps ensure your glasses are fitted properly to your face and ensures quality control.
In addition, you can come into Burke Eyecare for eyeglass repair or to receive free eyeglass adjustments from Tina.
When Tina is not at Burke Eyecare, she enjoys boating on the lake with her husband and spending time with her dogs.
Stephen adds his skillful touch to the patients he pretests in our fine community of Grove & the surrounding areas. He has 3 years of experience in optical tomography (OCT imaging). During that time, he worked under an ophthalmologist and checked eye pressures and did cataract and Lasik testing. At Burke Eyecare, Stephen operates our OCT to monitor retina & nerve disease such as macular degeneration & glaucoma. This can also help with detecting early stages of blindness.
Additionally, Stephen does visual field tests, which detect visual field loss due to glaucoma. He does contact lens training so people can be comfortable putting on and taking off contacts for the first time. He helps patients with their medication refills, and he helps with patient care after cataract surgery. In our onsite lab, Stephen enjoys cutting lenses to put into patients’ eyeglasses.
Stephen is a prior United States Marine who was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 beautiful children. He also enjoys anything related to sports, music and art. He especially likes the outdoors & canoeing.
Kaitlin is a technician at Burke Eyecare. She enjoys taking fundus photos that show details such as the optic nerve, optic disc, whether or not the eyes have been bruised and etc. This helps to spot if people have any major eye diseases. She likes learning new things every day such as keratoconus, which occurs when the “cornea, the clear, dome-shapend front surface of your eye, thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape”. Kaitlin is familiar with using our topographer, which takes an aerial map of the cornea. She also pretests patients before they see Dr. Burke and helps with patient care after cataract surgery.
Furthermore, Kaitlin likes the family work environment at Burke Eyecare. Kaitlin loves spending time with her son and her daughter. She enjoys watching her husband ride his dirtbike and taking their son on long rides.
Franklin Morris II
Franklin runs our onsite optical lab where he cuts lenses to fit into eyeglass frames. Depending on the insurance used, this allows people to get their lenses cut in a more timely manner. In addition, if people decide to keep their frames but just change the lenses, Franklin can cut their lenses at Burke Eyecare in around a 30 minute period of time on a scheduled basis after we receive their lens shipment. This allows people to keep their frames with them instead of having them sent to an out-of-town lab to be processed.
To help you get to know Dr. Burke better, Franklin worked behind the scenes on creating the Ask Grove’s Eye Doctor videos on YouTube as well as the AskGrovesEyeDoctor.com website. He enjoys giving more people the opportunity to benefit from Burke Eyecare’s services via his passion with marketing.
Among other things, Franklin has fun learning Spanish and growing plants in pots.
